Given the world view of conservatives, I'd disagree with this. The far
extreme right is anarchy. Even the Wikipedia entry for fascism is all
over the map, but reflects an authoritarian bent in all cases. Total
governmental control is the left end of the scale, occupied by
communism, socialism, and (depending on the definition of fascism)
fascism. The scale moves rightward through liberalism, conservatism,
libertarianism, towards anarchy. Conservatives often agree with most of
the tenets of libertarians (who are almost anarchists), but believe they
take it too far.

As for the definition of fascism versus Stalinism/Maoism, Wikipedia does
in some cases lump them together. I don't like the word fascism,
precisely because mostly it's a slur whose definition no one seems to
agree on.
