Yep. There's a guy at Wacom who apparently spends most of his free time
hacking support into whatever latest version of XFree for whatever
latest revision of tablet they have. I think it's unofficially
officially sponsored since he does some of the work on Wacom's dime.
Other tablets, I couldn't tell you other than there are about a dozen
drivers for devices I don't immediately recognize that are probably
tablets of some flavor.

s'posda work just fine. Of course, it's not as mature tablet support as
something like Painter or Photoshop. (But gimp 2.0 is planned to have
some very advanced support for tablet-related functions, in another
couple of years.)

If you're running XFree86 v4.x, just do 'man wacom' and see what pops
up.
