ok i hope i replyed to the right place so that anyone and everyone gets this

i am a new linux users and have been having great deals of trouble using
ether net and my cable modem i have a hp pavillion and im runnin g SuSE 7.1
for it is the best i have found with options and so forth. i also have
mandrake 7.2
the probles i seem to being having its its not recizing my ether net card it
gives me a "'the device eth0 is not available at the moment when i have
manuly configured the ether net card
i will attend the next brandon meeting but i will be unable to bring my
machine for it is a large desktop and the moniter is emence
