As I see it there is a good bit of difference in one aspect. Mandrake
seems to be aimed more at the individual user while Red Hat appears to
be aimed more at the corporate user. IBM is a big owner/investor in Red
Hat so this distinction is understandable. At the current time this does
not appear to effect the operation of either distribution but I would
not bet on that as time passes.

I am using Mandrake 7.1 to write this and I have RH 6.1 in another
machine. Shortly in the next week or so RH 7.2 will be installed on this
machine. I would have used Mandrake 8.0 but currently it is only
available by download.
