China's government has adopted Linux as their official OS due to the fact
that it IS open source and they can check all the source code and compile it
themselves. They don't trust Microsoft and the US government. They fear that
if they were to use MS they would be subject to the possibility that the US
government would (and could) supply a "special version" to spy on them and
cripple their networks and systems in the event of a conflict.
