The new x, Gnome, and KDEhave been out in a combined package ie new
distribution for a very short time: SuSE approximately 2 months and RH
approximately 3 weeks. Mandrake has posted their new 8.0 version on the
net. Mandrake and RH are still not available in the stores.
What does this have to do with your question? Everything. It says very loud
and clear that what you are planning to update to is probable not stable. It
has not stood the test of tome and been beat up up yet by a million users.
My advice is if you do not have to change and this is a productive machine do
not. It it is a development machine and you are changing to develop
additional software have fun with the new updates.
