I have Win4Lin installed to run any window apps that I have to use.
Have Word97 installed and it works fine. After creating a few
documents, I started up Star Office to see if it could open the MSWord
doc and it did. Editing the docs in Star Office also went well.
Granted, these were simple docs with one graphic.

Win4Lin costs about $60-70 retail. The install is easy (as long as your
/var directory is large enough - may need to use a symlink if not). I
know longer need W95/98. Win4Lin does have an audit clause in their
license which is somewhat disconcerting.
