Funny it installed on a Amd k5 166 , Amd k6 350 , 400 , 450 and 500
in fact my laptop is a 450 k6 all running Linux Mandrake , Redhat and
S.u.S.E.

Mandrake 8.0, Redhat 7.1, S.u.S.E. 7.1
Stormix Hail ,

On my Amd LAptop I even have DVD working.

maybe you have something set wrong. Do you have plugl and play option os in
your bios disabled?
Also check your setting for yout boot devices in your bio should be set to
cdrom , then hard drive or floppy.

If you have it to boot of hard drive first then floppy or floppy and then
hard drive you will not get it to install.
I even Installed Mandrake 80 on a AMD 486 machine for a friend just to show
him it will work.

This is from Mandrakes site.

 all Pentium & compatible
Pentium, Pentium pro, Pentium MMX, Pentium II, Pentium III, Celeron, Cyrix
6x86, Cyrix M II, AMD K6, K6-2, Athlon, Winchip ...
