Yes, xinetd is running on the Linux box I am having problems with.

Yes, All the passwords in both the passwd and smbpasswd files are the same
for both boxes.

Yes, smbd and nmbd are running.

No, I cannot start nfs. It just won't start at all. Do I need to
reinstall nfs.utils?? Is this symptomatic of all my problems??
