[SLUG] rpm false dependency problem

I downloaded the latest rpm of xchat 1.8.1 and when I attempted to install it
using the kde rpm install tool, it listed a unsatisfied dependency of
libcrypto.so.1 and libssl.so.1. when I did a whereis check for both these
libraries, I found them both in /usr/lib.
Has anyone else observed something like this?
How did you resolve it?
Should I just install from the command line?
