.swf files are macromedia flash files. Get the flash player for Linux here:
http://www.macromedia.com/shockwave/download/index.cgi?P1_Prod_Version=Shock
waveFlash&P2_Platform=Linux&P3_Browser_Version=Netscape4

Follow thw included instructins -- it's just a matter of copying 2 files
into your netscape/plugins directory.

Subject: [SLUG] about .swr files

Hi all:

  I am slowly working my way toward VCD, recording TV programs
on the HD, editing (removal commercials etc.) then compressing
with MPG and putting a hour TV program (44 minutes)on a 700 megs
CDR. (800 megs of music, as one of my chums does with winblows)
  I have downloaded two .swf files which are animated html like
files. (these are new to me also)
  This same chum `drags them to Netscape's icon and they play,
I run Enlightenment in the X system, so being menu driven I
have no drag. I can't get netscape to run them, so I wonder
if any one assembled here knows how to play them.
(my experimenting time lately is almost zero, and it seems like
the list needs a few new threads at this time)
  Thanks in advance;
