I haven't depended on RedHat's desktop for several releases now. I remove all
of the old rpms (both gnome and kde) then run "lynx --source
http://go-gnome.com |sh" to install gnome then download the kde RPMS and rpm
-ivh them. My guess is that if you want newer releases of gnome and kde than
what redhat offers on their update tool, you'll need to install them manually
(which isn't so bad once you've used red-carpet haha)
