Yes of course......You are right.......Seems I am learning something
new everyday.. I had done an su from my user desktop, to check
lsmod, etc. to see what I had before invoking xsane. Now I know.

Think I will try what you suggest. I am familiar with Hamrick. I have
been using Vueprint for many years in Windoze and I absolutely love
it. Wish I could use it in Linux. Gonna go check it out.
