100% safe, no, capable of avoiding and/or fending off the majority
of the attempts, sure.

Why would a malicious hacker waste time going after a well-defended
Linux system when he/she can easily write apps to invade and capture
M$ junk?

I am, of course, assuming that you'd implement current-day security
protocols ... even that won't save a M$ machine!
