I use Adobe Premier.for ripping Music Videos.
Adobe Premier is a great Product how ever it runs under Windows !
To bad they do not have a Linux port of it.

Another Website that may have something you could check is Vcdhelp.com
They have alot of tips and hints on ripping vids and using capture cards.
