[SLUG] Serial Port issue

I just received a new laptop "shell" because of a minor hardware problem. I
retained my old hard drive, dvd/cdrom drive, etc. Everything in Linux seems to
work fine except my serial port. I use minicom and I'm not able to access
devices from ttyS0.

Anyone know of anything I should be looking for?

The serial port (COM1) works fine in Windows.
