I recieved the first package today, the free learning
package that was provided by compaq. It weighed bout 10
pounds and had 6 student sized manuals. 7 cds(including
redhat 7.1) a floppy and ball point pen and highlight
marker(whee!) this is a home study course directed at
setting and using linux on compaq servers,etc.Just glancing
at it ---seems to be pretty detailed and offers some linux
instruction ( even has insets for suse,caldera and turbo)
and comes with a free testing and certification(if you pass
the test) for compaq servers and the like. The other "kit"
is on back order and I will "recieve it as soon as it
becomes available".Seems compaq has spent quite a bit of
change on these but they must be getting new packages as
these mostly make reference to 2.2.-- kernel. In any case
these are pretty decent and have more than just a bit of
info. I will bring them to the next Dunedin meeting if
anyone is interested.
