I've been seeing a lot of off-list traffic lately on job openings. Not
to mention the list traffic. Outside companies (some probably not
reputable) come to me asking for some way to advertise job openings to
Linux users. And since I don't want to deluge the list with that kind of
traffic, I don't have much to tell them. But at the same time, I don't
like passing up a potential resource for members, especially in a
faltering economy. I don't mind them announcing jobs at meetings, but
that's only a small fraction of the members.
I've been trying to think up a solution. The best thing I can come up
with is maybe a page on the website for job openings. They'd have to
send me the listings, and I'd have to upload them. I'd do it as a pilot
project to see if it's worthwhile.
Any comments on this? Pro? Con? Better solutions?
