[SLUG] My LG CED-8120B will write data, but not audio, CD-Rs

From: Ben Ostrowsky (ostrowb@tblc.org)
Date: Fri Apr 05 2002 - 16:04:52 EST

Hi folks -- hope someone will point out my error.

I've got SuSE 7.3 and the most recent version of cdrtools, and
I've upgraded the firmware on my CD-RW drive, and yet I can't manage
to burn an audio CD,even with "speed=1". BUT -- I can write data CDs
just fine. I'm using the same media in both cases (Imation 700MB).

If anyone spots my mistake, or can offer useful questions or answers,
I'd be most appreciative.

Here's sample output from making a data CD:

bernie:/tmp/gnut/coyote # mkisofs -J -r -o /tmp/coyoteugly.iso *

That CD works fine. Now here's an attempt to burn two .cdr files (I've
tried making .cdr files with both xmms and (mpg123 | sox)) as CD-Audio:
