It's not the older motherboards that are the problem,
but more likely the new ones.
I have a new laptop with a new intel graphics chip set
that wasn't supported until Mandarake 8.2 and I think
Suse 8.0. I couldn't get it to work at all with Red
Hat 7.2 and there support wasn't very supportive to
say the least.
Every thing worked out of the box so to speak with
Mandrake 8.2.
