I'm using Anomy to filter out or rename executable email attachments (exe, bat, sh, pl...). It will work with Postfix. The web site even lists some virus scanner packages that will work with Anomy but that's only useful only if you have windows pcs receiving email.

Although if your running under a non-root account on Linux you would pretty much be safe since only your non-root account would be affected..... unless your running as root then that's a different story.

Is anyone running running any virus protection on their Linux boxes and mail
servers? Is there any need to? Can anyone recommend a virus protection
package for an smtp/imap4 server running Postfix and Courier IMAP? Thanks,

Doug
