I moved here from Arizona about a year ago. We got lots of lightning in
the summer. We would get outages of upto 10 minutes a couple times, but
we never lost power as often as here. The power poles just look a lot
less sturdy around here, but I guess there really isn't solid rock to
put the poles in, and they get blown over a whole lot easier.
