I vote for IBM, then west digital, then maxtor. In my experiences, I have
had the least problest with IBM, then WD, and the most with Maxtor that any
other brand. I have faced stability more problems with mixing brands of HD's
with Maxtor than any other. However, if I were certain that I would never
attach another brand to IDE chain, I wouldn't be concerned.
