After much headbanging I just logged onto the server via my thin client.

Fantastic.

I had to put the kernel image, initrd image and pxelinux.0 files in
/tftpboot, not /tftpboot/lts and reflect that in the dhcpd.conf file
though. I don't yet have an answer as to why but the system is working.
