I've found Exim to be very easy to use as an MTA (replacement for
sendmail) .. I use fetchmail to get all my mail on one machine..Then I use
the WU-IMAP server so that I have access to that mail from all my
machines.. using Pine to read all my mail of course =)

I was able to setup Exim, WU-IMAP, and Pine all in about one day.. to give
you an idea of how simple they area.. That was with no exprience in them
at all..
