I haven't tried RH8 on a 760, but I know that there was an issue with
the Trident drivers and any version of X higher than 3.3. To get RedHat
7 to work with X 4 on mine I had to select "unlisted svga adapter"
rather than the Trident drivers. Have you tried that driver with X 4.2?
