beware of this one though!

there have been numerous security holes in ntop, many of them blatant
and enourmous, and due to its functioning, ntop MUST run as root! the
author has neglected maintenance on the tool for months at a time,
during several of which periods, it contained security exploits that
would allow anyone to remotely access the box running it as root.

it's one of those things that's a really neat tool, but should be
considered dangerous to use. only keep it around and use it while you
actually need it, then make sure it's out of the way and ABSOLUTELY
never run it on a public node unless you are very very careful.
