It's not only that - often, when coders try to write tutorials, they turn out sounding like reference manuals anyway. It's difficult a lot of times to get an outside perspective on a piece of software that you know intimately inside and out. The best tutorials, IMO, are those written by intermediate-level users who can understand the reference manuals but are looking for something that resembles English a little more closely.
