Doug,
Please delete the HP printer using YaST. Assuming the Epson is going to be
printer1, after reconfiguring it, pick a text file in your home directory,
then enter the command in a terminal, lpr -Pprinter1 /pathtofile, where
/pathtofile is the actual path to the text file, for example,
/home/doug/greeting.txt If the printer prints a page then it should work
directly in other applications that use the CUPS spooler. As I stated in a
previous post, you may need to remove then reinstall your CUPS packages.
