Subject: [SLUG] Domain Expirations

I've never checked this out, but let's say that you register your domain

on 1 January 2002. It's supposed to expire on 1 Jan 2003. You get the
requisite nags from the registrars. And to get ahead of the game, you go

ahead and renew the registration on 30 November 2002. Now, will the
renewal expire on 30 November 2003 or 1 Jan 2004? I have this nagging
feeling that if you renew it early, your expiration date "creeps
backward" on you. And if true, what a scam! (I'm talking here about
networksolutions.com and register.com, and other "big" guys.)
