[SLUG] DSL Home Networking NOOB Part Deux

I need a good networking howto i've got everything connected (except
DSL) but i'm under the impresseion that i need to assign static IPs to
the client machines (192.168.10.x) but i need to know things like subnet
mask and gateway which i don't remember. also the client machines can
ping 127.0.0.1 but that's just my little ethernet hub right?
any help?
