I'm running KDE 3.1.1, so I only need to do two things:

1) Configure "Local Network Browsing" under the "Internet & Network"
category in the KDE Control Center.
2) Make sure I have smbclient installed (part of the samba tools).

So my questions would be, what version of KDE are you running and do you
have smbclient somewhere in your $PATH?
