[SLUG] laptop part deux: the printer

OK. I ordered a Thinkpad T40, a USB floppy drive [0], a DC charger, a
high-capacity battery, and 512 MB RAM [1]. I placed the order 8/27, so
the pieces should dribble in over the next fortnight or sooner.

Now I should get a battery-powered printer. I think it'll have to be
inkjet -- AFAIK the only dry [3], quiet technology is thermal, and the
printouts are neither sturdy nor durable.

Does anybody have any recommendations? Slow, monochrome and low-res are
OK. Dot matrix and daisy-wheel are too noisy (think classroom); laser
eats power.

[0] the blurb says Mac or PC, so hopefully it'll also work in Linux

[1] to add to the onboard 256 MB... I should have ordered the computer
with the extra RAM installed... I'll only save about $10 what with the
installation charge [2], and I have to go to Clearwater

[2] to maintain the IBM warranty

[3] I think dry is good because IME inkjet print heads tend to crust over
during periods of disuse, requiring you to discard a partially-full
ink reservoir simply because the head is shot. If there are solutions
besides "no ink", I'd love to hear them.
