It probably lies with people posting before they have read the new ones.
I tend to read first and as I go along I make replies. Sometimes that
creates the same answer as others may have made. But it saves me from
having to go through the list a 2nd time to see what I want to reply to.

This list has nothing on redundant or off topic volume though. I'm on Full
Disclosure which has so much crap that often only a couple out of a 100
posts are usefull or even related.
