Here's a more unconventional approach which I personally like better -
Make sure X11Forwarding is set to "yes" in your sshd_config, then at an
x-term of choice, type -
$ ssh -X root@localhost
You will now be able to launch any root privilege X apps inside the ssh
session. You won't have to muck with xhosts this way.
