Before 'su', you have to do 'xhost +localhost' to allow connections from
localhost.

Subject: [SLUG] SuSE - "connection to ":0.0" refused by server"

Hello,

I have switched to SuSE Desktop from Red Hat and am trying to run a

command after su-ing to root. This is what I get:

Xlib: connection to ":0.0" refused by server

Xlib: No protocol specified

What do I need to do to give myself the ability to run anything I want

when I su to root?

I am trying to get my Nortel VPN client running, but don't want to do so

as root.

Thanks!

Dave
