one word... Webmin. I currently use the Webmin interface to dump, and it
works very well. I have multiple backup s scheduled, and so far (after
about 6 months of use) have had no problems as long as the tapes are
changed.

I use taper. It's got a TUI; so not CLI, but not pixel-based either. I
wanted something that could make compressed archives that span tapes
