# rpm -V rpm

If you see a 5 then its md5sum checksum does not match what's in the
rpm database, then I might start worrying if you had a corrupted binary
(and how it became corrupt). Hopefully it's just a corrupt rpm db,
which isn't super-uncommon if you something kills rpm in the middle of
a database transaction.

# rpm --rebuilddb
