If you already have ext2 partitions set up, Mepis will ask if you want
to use them when you install. In fact, if there is already Linux junk on
there, it will overwrite part of it, and leave other parts in place (not
a good idea). I'd suggest booting from something like Knoppix (a live CD
distro or something that does not touch your hard drive) and wipe your
ext2 partition(s). Don't delete them, just wipe the contents. Then
install Mepis and answer the install questions appropriately.
