[SLUG] Emulators: QEMU, PearPC

If you didn't catch the recent emulator releases, it may be fun to try
these this weekend:

PearPC 0.1 - Emulate a PowerPC under x86, run Linux PPC or Mac OS/X 10.2

QEMU 0.5.5 - Emulate a virtual machine (x86, PPC, sparc, or ARM)

With QEMU running x86-fast emulation on a x86 host, you have something
that virtualizes a machine entirely in userspace. This meaning you can
get almost VMWare/Plex86 speeds out of something that runs very similar
to Bochs. It runs all versions of Windows as well (with varying ease of
setup at the moment).

Sure, UML and VMWare works well together now. However, I'm still playing
with CoLinux and Xen with our UML speed problems and VMWare security
concerns.

PearPC is neat for those with PCs who simply want to know what all the
hooplah surrounding Macs is all about. Now you can run your own virtual
*modern* Mac (none of that Sheepshaver or other 68x00 OS8/9 pain).

Enjoy.
