Not here. (Slackware) Is ifup/ifdown part of something
other than your distro?
ifdown
-bash: ifdown: command not found
The following kills my dhcp connection,
/sbin/ifdown eth0
but the following does not restore it without killing and
restarting dhcpd. (although the light on the NIC card does
become active) Reason unknown.
/sbin/ifup eth0
