[SLUG] SCSI vs "cdrecord -scanbus"

I had a real SCSI CD burner. It would show up fine when I ran "cdrecord
-scanbus", as would the other SCSI device. It died, so I got an IDE DVD
burner, on which I use ide-scsi, via these lines in modules.conf:

below sg ide-scsi
below ide-scsi ide-cd

It is /dev/hdc, as many documents assume. The directions I found at
http://krnlpanic.com/tutorials/ide-scsi.php say to add

alias scsi_hostadapter ide-scsi

But I already have a genuine SCSI card (aic7xxx). I don't want to lose
support for it and its devices.

Also, before I changed hardware, "cdrecord -scanbus" would show everything
on the SCSI bus. Now, it shows the DVD drive as the only item (0,0,0) on
the only bus (scsibus0). How would I get it to show three buses --
aic7xxx, ide-scsi, and usb-storage?

Oh yeah, I have kernel 2.4.22, Redhat 8.
