Note: While the researcher was in the emergency room, his assistant successfully installed a modified Slackware kernel on the rodent. Unfortunately, the hamster unit's installed OS doesn't recognize any output devices at the moment, so it is an academic success only, unable to be used for any practical purposes. The next step that is planned is a case mod, including the addition of an integrated flat-panel monitor scavenged from a broken IBM Thinkpad. Assuming success, an attempt will be made to replicate the installation so that a Hamster Cluster virtual server can be implemented in the research laboratory's LAN.
