Why? I've already got name resolution running on the network. I just need to
figure out why it isn't working properly for the 'nix boxen. Considering that
both "nmblookup foo" and "host foo" works for finding machines by hostname, but
ping doesn't, there definitely seems to be something wrong. I'd like to solve
the problem, rather than throw random potential labor-intensive solutions at it
and see if any of them stick.
