You may want to use DiskKeeper to defrag the drive before resizing the
partition. They have trialware you can use for free at
http://consumer.execsoft.com/
It will do a better job of defragging than the Windows defragger.
In my case, the Windows tool left a piece of a file at the end of the
partition, and wouldn't move it, so I couldnt shrink the partition. But
DiskKeeper did a much better job, moved the fragment, and the Suse install
was able to shrink the partition.
