My UPS kept overloading so I just finally turned it off and moved to the
laptop PC.

Funny thing, the cable modem connection stayed up throughout the entire
hurricane, and then about 30 minutes after it passed through it went down
for three hours (no cable light).

Just went around the house now that it's daylight to check for damage ...
one bush blown down next to our garage (that was already sick), and it looks
like a lot of the shorter vegetation in the preserve area behind our
backyard got blown down as well. Otherwise, no significant damage to speak
of. Going on a photo run this morning around other parts of Polk County to
photograph the aftermath for posterity, if the road conditions aren't too
bad.

I think everyone here in Sarasota made out just fine. Just my uptime is
really, really small right now. =( Yes, I have a UPS, but I didn't want
to take the chance.
