I'm about to experiment using L'ane POS (GPL) :
Over the weekend I'll be building a VIA Mini-ITX based POS system w/
Cash Register, Thermal Receipt Printer and Touchscreen. Let me know if
you come across any "better looking" alternatives that will be able to
handle a register, touchscreen, etc.
