Just for competelness, there's a Java based X-server called WeirdX available.
It's a little tricky at first to configure (or at least was for me) but
doesn't run too badly once it's going. The neat thing is that you can drop the
files on a webserver, copy a config to your local machine and then be able to
launch remote sessions from any browser.
