Maybe its mount point isn't there yet, i.e. /dev isn't mounted or /dev/pts
isn't created. Try putting "noauto" in its options, and then putting
"mount /dev/pts" in /etc/rc.d/(init.d/)local , after "mkdir /dev/pts".
