You can also do it with a PC-to-PC serial cable. There's a specific
name for the type of cable, which escapes me at this exact moment (I'm
pretty sure it's not "crossover" like with UTP). They tend to cost
about twice as much as a standard serial cable, I think, but that still
saves the cost of the null-modem adapter if you're going to go shopping
for parts.
